Next the dealer shuffles a standard 52-card deck and the two players to the left of the dealer start the deal by posting blind by putting a preset amount of money into the pot before any cards are dealt. Each player is then dealt two "hole cards” with their face down followed with a round of betting beginning with the player to the left of the two who posted the blinds. Then follows burning the card in which the dealer discards the top card of the deck to prevent cheating. The dealer then flips the next three cards face up on the table and these cards are called the "flop" followed by another round of betting during which the players can check, call, raise, or fold when it is their turn to bet. The dealer burns one card which is called the "turn" or "Fourth Street followed by third round of betting and then final burning of card before placing the final face-up card on the table and this card is called "river" or "Fifth Street".
