The new poker? Elimination Blackjack
Have you mastered poker? Ready for the next challenge? Everyone knows how to play black jack, or “21”. You and the dealer each get 2 cards and decide if you want more to reach the highest card value up to and including 21. If you go over, you lose – or go bust. No big deal, right? As children we learned this as a counting and basic statistics game. How about adding some strategy? Blackjack with a twist. In Elimination Blackjack, there are multiple players and the player with the lowest chip count at the end of hands 8, 16, and 24 is eliminated. The player with the highest chip count at hand 30 wins the game. This causes players to bet more aggressively so they are not the ones that have to leave in the elimination rounds. Strategy is the key to staying in and winning elimination blackjack. Bets are based on what the other players have in their chip stack and what you have in yours. There is also the opportunity to bet without your opponents knowing the amount, called the “Secret Bet”. Each player can use this strategy once in each game and it is most often used during an elimination round when the stakes are higher. The Elimination Blackjack variation has hit the ground running with the decision by CBS television to broadcast the Ultimate Blackjack tour in September 2006 and again in the 2007 season. Players can qualify online at playubt.com or at one of several online casinos that are listed at http://EliminationBlackjackTournaments.com .
